2008 Pinot Noir Willakia Vineyard

A mature, Oregon style Pinot Noir with intense dark fruits and earthy undertones. With an alcohol content of 14.9%, this wine is surprisingly soft. Primarily harvested from a pommard clone with a hint of 113, this wine can stand up to red meats and wild game.

Production

A long growing season and a dry fall allowed us to hang until fully mature. A production of 165 cases aged for 9 months on 29% new French oak. Harvested October 30th, the grapes were destemmed and fermented for 14 days.

Selected from the Willakia Vineyard, located in the Amity/Eola AVA, this Pinot Noir is rooted in Nekia soils at an elevation of 450’.

Look for the wine to cellar well for 7 to 9 years.

2009 Pinot Noir

Hyland Vineyard

Bright ruby color to the edge. Refined, juicy raspberry/strawberry aromas, vibrant. Rich and warm vintage dark-fruited on the attack with plenty of high-pitched wild cherry/raspberry fruit, a fine long, mouth-watering finish.

Look for the wine to cellar well until 2017.

Willakia Vineyard

Bright ruby. Spicy, racy, bold aromas of dark cherry. Warm vintage Burgundian red fruit core, with plenty of weight and pent-up muscle. Rich and energetic with the excellent persistence.

Look for the wine to cellar well until 2018.
